Getting Started in Computer Science

Advanced Support for Jr. Programmers

This pathway is perfect for students that have zero experience or have done some programming in Scratch, Blockly, or other block languages. Students will learn foundational Computer Science concepts while building projects they love in JavaScript. 

This pathway includes:

  1. 1 on 1 Support
  2. A Structured Pathway to Build Confidence and Key Skills
  3. Adaptive Projects based on Student Interests
  4. A Code Naturally Account where students can view, edit, and create new projects in JavaScript from any computer.
  5. Student Report to help students evaluate what they’ve learned and what they should learn and apply next.

This pathway includes everything provided in “Just Getting Started” but has a focus on students completing large milestone projects that could be used in College applications, personal portfolios, or student resumes. 

Students must have experience programming in JavaScript, Java, C++, or a comparable programming language in order to enroll in this class.

This class is perfect for students that are considering taking AP Computer Science or are interested in studying Computer Science in college. 

Student learn and apply advance concepts to creating simulations, visualizations, games, and more.

Located in Downtown Santa Cruz, our center is a flexible and convenient space for your student to collaborate, create, and learn programming at their pace with the support of certified Code Naturally Educator.
